The policy seeks to highlight the areas in which user privacy is concerned and outlines the responsibilities / terms and conditions of the user and the website owners.  In addition, it highlights how we process, store and protect our users data. 

If you believe any information we have about you is incorrect or incomplete, please contact us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect. 

Please also note that if you ask us to put you in touch with a supplier we will take this as consent to share your details with them.

The user may opt out of receiving any communication from the website and company at any time by using a contact form on our website and asking to unsubscribe from communications. 

Contact forms

When website visitors use a contact form / get in touch form in order to send a message or enquiry to Burbs Kitchen team, text data is collected along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Users contacting the website owners online do so at their own discretion and it is recommended to provide only the details needed to enquire.  Every effort is made to keep the forms secure, with regular website maintenance, however we must highlight with any online interaction users do so at their own risk. A users personal details are stored until a time it is no longer required.

If you do not wish to share your email and message via the website, you can always give the team a call and we can arrange to meet up.

Cookies

This website uses cookies to better the users experience in using the website.  A cookie is a small file saved on the users hard drive which saves information on the users use of the website. This information can then help tailor the information presented.  The user will be given the option to allow or disallow these cookies on their computer or device.  

If a user leaves a comment on the site they may opt-in to saving their name, email address and website in cookies. These are for  convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again.  

Tracking software cookies & analytics

The website also uses web analytic software named Google Analytics to better understand how users navigate around the site and find the site. Other cookies may be stored on a computers hard drive when we work with external vendors who refer customers to the website. Currently Burbs Kitchen advertise on Social Media and appear on a number of Wedding and Event Catering Websites. These cookies from referral websites are only used for conversion and referral tracking and typically expire after 30 days.  Again, no personal information is stored, saved or collected from these sites. The third party site may be recording your activity and personal details (check their privacy policy or website terms and conditions).  

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.  These websites may collect data about the user, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Sharing Media

If you kindly share images from your event for use on the website, you should avoid sharing images with embedded location data (GPS) included. Note visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Who we share your data with and how long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained for three years. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically.

For users that register on our website (if any registration available), we also store the personal information provided in user profiles. When registration is active, all users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.  Administrators are limited to a website technical support and the website manager.

What rights do users have over their data

If users have an account (if registration available) on this site, or have left comments, they can request to receive an exported file of the personal data, including any data provided to the website. Users can also request that any personal data is erased.  This does not include any data the business is obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.  All comments are sent direct to the business email address only.  For further support with your event, we may send detailed requests to hire companies for crockery, linen, tableware etc, but there will never be a need to share your email without your written agreement or request to liaise direct with external supplier.  For administrative purposes we may need to upload your email to mailchimp, thi

Communication expectations

We will only contact you about your pending or booked event. We will not subscribe you to a newsletter without your consent. Where reasonable we may get in touch for a review/testimonial following your event, enquire on a repeat booking or to send you any images we may have from your event. Your details will not be passed on to any third parties (relating to your event) to liaise with you, without your prior consent or request to liaise.

External links

Although this website only looks to include links to safe websites, users are advised to adopt a policy of caution. We will regularly review website content, however we can not be held accountable of the damages or implications caused by users visiting the external links to suppliers, venues etc. 

Social Media Platforms

Communications received via social media are also custom to the above terms and conditions.  Users are advised to engage on these sites with due care and caution when it relates to sharing  personal data.  We will never ask for card details via email, this will be via payment link or direct to a business bank account.
